Alana maintains registration as a psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia and endorsement as a Forensic Psychologist. She specialises in providing psycholegal assessments and reports to the Court, and conducts comprehensive risk assessments and treatment recommendations for clients who have been charged with criminal offending.
Alana has completed specialised training in assessment, intervention, and case formulation with forensic clients, along with training in best-practice principles for risk assessment and intervention across offence types, forensic report writing, and providing expert testimony. She has worked within the forensic psychology field for over 15 years, and is adept at all aspects of forensic assessment, including administration, scoring and interpretation of relevant risk assessment instruments and other psychometric tools.
Alana has experience working in community-based and custodial settings, conducting assessments and delivering intervention programs with clients with histories associated with violence, sexual offending, personality disorders, alcohol and other drug dependence, and serious mental illness. Alana additionally has experience working therapeutically in a private practice setting with a diverse range of client presentations. She has experience working with clients engaged with the justice system who present with culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, across the lifespan.
Alana is a Psychology Board of Australia Board Approved Supervisor, providing clinical supervision to provisional psychologists and students undertaking undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in psychology, and those undertaking internship pathways.
