Sarah Pitts

Sarah is a Registered Psychologist holding a Masters of Professional Psychology and specialist expertise in Forensic Disability. Sarah has extensive experience conducting forensic risk assessments and facilitating offence-specific and related group and individual interventions. Sarah has worked both within forensic disability services and private practice and has received specific training in facilitating offence-specific programs inclusive of violent and sexual offending. Sarah has additionally worked within a Practice and Development management role, where she led projects related to incorporating best practice clinical work into existing treatment and case management services.
Sarah has been trained in a manner of specific risk assessment tools, including the Historical Clinical and Risk Management-20 [HCR-20 v3], Hare Psychopathy Checklist-Revised (PCL-R), Sexual Violence Risk Management-20 (SVR-20 v2), and Assessment of Risk and Manageability of Individuals with Developmental and Intellectual Limitations who Offend (ARMIDILO; both sexual and general versions). Historically, Sarah has conducted risk assessments with highly complex clients, typically with a dual diagnosis inclusive of intellectual disability and/or acquired brain injury, and/or other mental health diagnoses or presentations, including personality disorders, Autism Spectrum Disorder, trauma and substance use issues.
Sarah also has experience co-facilitating mental health reviews alongside forensic Psychiatrists in a specialised mental health service, designed for people with dual diagnoses involved within the criminal justice system. She holds full registration as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia, and is a member of the Australian Association of Psychologists Inc (AAPi).
